I am completely speechless and honored that Pacific Mambo Orchestra won the Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album! Go PMO!!
I just found out that the group of which I am a founding member, Pacific Mambo Orchestra, was nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Tropical Latin Album” alongside the likes of Marc Anthony and others. I am so unbelievably excited and proud of PMO for beating the odds and making it into the running with some of the best in the biz.
I feel very personally proud of the album also as having been one its primary composers – I wrote 1/2 of the compositions/arrangements on the record (as well as having played baritone sax on all the tracks). The world-class musicians that brought the music to life deserve very special recognition: Pete Cornell, Tony Peebles, Doug Rowan, Evan Francis, Ben Torres, Mike Rinta, Jeff Cressman, Jamie Dubberly, Derek James, Niel Levonius, Jeff Lewis, Steffen Kuehn, Louis Fasman, Omar Ledezma Jr., Javier Cabanillas, Braulio Barrera, Alexa Morales, Christian Tumalan, Jorge Pomar, Abo Gumroyan, Christian Pepin , Karl Perazzo (and man, I hope I didn’t forget anyone!!).
And a VERY special additional thanks to Steffen and Christian for the vision you two had to make this happen! Looking forward to going to the ceremony with you guys in January and having some fun!
